Clapham: I always love working for my neighbours and I still enjoy walking up the curved steps we built in the garden and dining in the kitchen, which we gutted and opened up, while keeping the potentially messy cooking ‘zone’ out of sight! When we put in the double glazed windows we also designed the cill to enable us to fit the bay with a useful work surface with cupboards below. The builders teased my obsession with creating niches as we hid an ample cupboard in the top bathroom behind the mirror and lined 2 alcoves with citrine glass, which also support the shelves. Sliding doors in the master bathroom reveal the his&hers shower room and basins, while the depth of the headboard includes some hidden shelves for books and a glass of water etc.
