Rosey believes design is a positive force.

Inspiration

She loves to walk and to take photographs, seeking out patterns and colour inspiration in the countryside and in the architecture around us. A keen friend of the V&A, the Tate and the Royal Academy, Rosey relishes every exhibition as well as keeping in touch with current artists and galleries. To relax she’ll often get out her own sketch book and paints!

Background

After a History of Art and Italian MA at the University of Edinburgh, she lived in Paris for 7 years where she launched her interior design business. Rosey immersed herself in all aspects of the world of Les Arts Decoratifs, including buying antiques for her clients from Antique dealers and the Marché aux Puces, and paintings direct from artists, particularly at the Portes Ouvertes de Belleville.

For the last 20+ years she has been based in London, helping clients across the UK on projects of all sizes, from simple redecoration to full redesign and project management. She now also has a base in West Berkshire.

Approach

Rosey enjoys meeting and listening to her clients; helping them rethink their homes, using sketches, watercolours and concept boards to bring her ideas and suggestions to life.

She believes art and paintings are the focal point of each room. They can provide the start point for the design, the colour palette and materials around them. She is always delighted to help source art for her clients.

With the environment in mind, she is keen to work with what her clients already own, restoring and reupholstering furniture. For everything else, she has a carefully curated list of tried and trusted, mostly UK based suppliers and craftspeople.

The aim is always to balance function and elegance, creating restful rooms with good architectural proportions with art, colour and furniture that refresh, restore, and lift the spirits.
